We received couple days ago news material from a publishing company L’École des loisirs. The books are for youth who would like to listen to French literature with nice, funny and colorful stories. We will use these books for the French reading club for children.
We took some pictures of what we get and we hope to have a lot of children during this French reading club which will be held in summer 🙂
On the 18th of February we had a course about CoralDraw with IT-teacher and students from Gymnasium. It was great, we learnt a lot.
Last week I spent in an amazing country – in France. I visited two cities – Lyon and Angers. New places, new emotions, new people – it was a perfect time. It’s already spring time. There is the blue sky, the sun is warm as in spring, flowers and buds are in blossom and the birds are singing their songs.
Užgavėnės is a Lithuanian festival that takes place during the seventh week before Easter (Ash Wednesday). Its name in English means “the time before Lent”. The celebration corresponds to Roman Catholic holiday traditions in other parts of the world, such as Mardi Gras, Shrove Tuesday, and Carnaval.
On the 7th of February we attended that event with our mentor Tomas. We tried some traditional food, pancakes, beer and porridge. We had a great time there.
On the 5th of February we had a meeting with DEINETA in Kaunas.
For couple hours we were talking about our project, expectations and daily life in Zarasai.
Volunteer Work and Helping out to Give Aid
On the 29th of January we were invited to take part in the cooking competition. The event was held by the organization for disabled people in Zarasai. The Mayer of the town and some other important people were invited to judge the participants.
We cooked the traditional food called shangi which is very popular in Bashkortostan.
We received padeka and also 4 hours in the swimming pool.
We went to Poland for couple days. We visited Warsaw, Auschwitz and Krakow.
We celebrated this day with the local community. After listening to some speech in front of the library we shared the porridge which was popular during those days. It was grechka with some sausage and tomato sauce. It was really tasty and hot.
After that meeting outside we listened to a classical concert in the museum.
On the 6th of January we met a class from the primary school at Zarasai public library. The event was connected with protection the nature and we used the used material. We made beautiful butterflies
